Live Roulette Guide

New live casino gamers might find the roulette table rather daunting – read more here. Have no fear. Below you will find some of the best tips to help you get started.

What Is Live Roulette?

Much like slots, live roulette is a game of chance. The game starts with players placing their bets on a number from 0 to 36. The croupier then spins a small white ball on a wheel that contains numbers 0 to 36.

The ball lands on one of the numbers, and all the players who wagered on that specific number slot wins. So essentially roulette players need to predict the number or type of slot where the ball is going to land.

How to Play Roulette Live

The game typically starts when you place a bet either on a single number (straight up), a combination of numbers, black or red, even or odd, or any number between 1 and 36 and 0 and 00 depending on the live casino where you are playing.

After you have placed your bet the dealer spins the live roulette wheel, while simultaneously rolling a small ball on the inside of the wheel. Once the wheel stops the ball will fall into one of the slots, revealing the winning number.

Inside Bets

Inside bets are placed between the numbers 0 and 36on the inner field of the table. There are five different inside bets that you can place, namely Street of Three Line, Straight, Split, Six Line and Corner bets.

A straight bet is placed on a single number by placing a chip in the corresponding slot. A split bet is placed on two connected numbers (either vertically or horizontally) by placing a chip on the line that separates the two slots.

A street of three line bet is placed on a row of three consecutive numbers (on a horizontal line). Here the chip is placed on the outer line of the number on the far left of the selection.

A corner bet is placed on four numbers that are arranged into a square. To indicate a corner bet the chip is placed on the cross between the four numbers.

A six line bet is placed on 6 connected numbers at the same time. To bet on 1-6 for example, the chip should be placed on the T-junction on the far left between the 1 and the 4.

Outside Bets

Outside bets are placed on the slots 1 to 36, on the outside of the table. There are also five different types of outside bets: Dozen, Column, Low or High, Black or Red and Odd or Even.

A column bet is when a player wagers on one of three vertical rows containing (left, middle, or right) 12 numbers each. The chip is then placed at the bottom of that row.

A dozen bet is placed on 12 numbers that occur in three consecutive rows. To indicate, the chip is placed in either the 1st 12, 2nd 12 or 3rd 12 area.

High bets are placed the numbers 19-36, while low bets are placed on the numbers 1 to 18. As the name indicates, Red or black bets are placed on the colours red or black instead of a number. Lastly, odd or even bets are placed on odd or even numbers.
